Why Aren’t There More Black People in Oregon? A Hidden History

“For a black community to exist here in Portland is incredible because it wasn’t supposed to exist at all.”
-Walidah Imarisha

The Civil Rights Section of the Oregon State Bar Association is proud to present a FREE public forum in celebration of the 50th Anniversary of the passage of the Civil Rights Act of 1964. The presenter is PSU Professor Walidah Imarisha and the title of the presentation is, “Why Aren’t There More Black People in Oregon? A Hidden History.”

The event will take place on July 10, 2014 at 7:15 pm at Matt Dishman Community Center, 77 NE Knott St, Portland, Oregon.

As an Executive Committee Member of the Oregon State Bar Association Civil Rights Section, I’ll be there. You should be there, too!
